| The idea behind Traumatized – To Hell and Back was to find willing contestants to be trained and challenged and eventually sparr with each other towards an ultimate prize. The five people below were picked by Tommy Trauma and are the Traumatized - To Hell and Back season one contestants. Here are their personal biographies: |
MATT DAVIS comes to us from Ocala, Florida and is a part of Team Trauma. Matt was chosen as an alternate in case one of the other four contestants could not continue. As it turns out, something did happen and Matt became an offical contestant. Matt is 26 years old, 5'10, & 185lbs. In Matt's own words: "I am a follower of Jesus Christ - my Lord and Savior. I fight for three reasons (1) I fight for the Glory and Honor of my Lord Jesus Christ. (2) I fight for my families honor and respect, my father Pastor Mike Davis, and my mother Melanie Davis! (3) I fight for every single fan of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA0, its because of these great fans I have this sport that I love! for these three reasons I will fight with all my heart and give everything I have." For the past four months he has been training at Team Trauma! Tommy "Trauma" Sauer and Jesse have been molding Matt into the best fighter he can be. Now Tommy, Big Daddy B and Gadget has given him the opportunity to join the show, Traumatized - To Hell and Back, as an alternate. He accepted this challenge for two reasons: the first was to see where he stood up to the other fighters and what he can learn from them. The second was to see if his heart can pull him through one of the biggest opportunities of his mma career. In the past four months while training at Team Trauma Matt has lost quite a bit. He lost his job, a woman he loved and even lost his way for a time. However, one thing he has not lost, and never will, is his faith and his heart. As Matt described, "I know I'm not the most experienced, fastest, or strongest fighter, but one thing I have more than any fighter is heart - a heart that will never give up! A heart that will lead me through one of the most physical and mentally demanding sports. If I can inspire just one person to never give up and to fight with all there heart then win or lose the message has won. I am the messenger and I fight for all of you my brothers and sisters. I love you all!" Matt certainly shows his heart on Traumatized - To Hell and Back! |

| MARCELO MASTROIANNI comes to us from Port St. Lucie, Florida and is a part of Team Animal. |
TOM NGUYEN comes to us from Atlanta, Georgia. Tom “The Fightaholic” Nguyen is a Asian-American and Vietnamese-American Professional MMA Fighter and Boxer. Tom writes, "To say that I was naturally talented at fighting would be a huge, fat lie. I took me years and years to get where I am at today. Yes, that included the hard knocks of losing many times before finally becoming victorious. The key ingredients that got me to where I am today were persistence, a good work ethic, and a winning mindset." Tom joined the wrestling team in high school and in the beginning, he was not very successful. His sophomore year ended with a 4 – 21 record. He refused to quit and went through his junior year with a new attitude. Although he was much improved, Tom's season still finished at 8 – 15. By my senior year, however, he finished at 16-8 and went to the State Championships. I went down in the first round due to quitting on myself before the match was over. In amateur boxing, after losing six bouts in a row, Tom ended up winning a match that broke a FOUR YEAR losing streak! He lost a few more matches before finally acquiring the last ingredient needed to become a successful fighter, a winning mindset. As Tom describes, "During a boxing match in 1999, something clicked in my head to focus on “fighting to win” and not “fighting not to lose”. This really hit home with me, and I was never the same after that." In 2001, he qualified for the Regional Championships in Florida and beat the state champion from South Carolina. Tom advanced to the regional finals where He was outpointed by a top ranked amateur. Although he was outpointed, Tom stayed aggressive throughout the whole match and never stopped trying to win. Tom's brother, Nhan, founded a submission wrestling school in Atlanta, called "The Obake Fight School." Tom trained there for about a year and a half before going to Jacare Cavalcante’s Alliance Academy to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. While at Jacare’s school, he competed and placed in numerous grappling tournaments. He stayed at Jacare’s for a little over a year before floating around to various other gyms and academies. Other notable places Tom Nguyen trained were: LA Boxing, Knuckle Up and Renzo Gracie’s in NYC. Tom still continues to compete in numerous submission grappling tournaments currently. |
